I, Charles L. Grider, am the founder of Tennessee Protection Agency, Inc. also known as T.P.A.  I have served in the security business for over 15 years working everything from the club scene, churches, retail stores, all culture events, and personal protection for actors and artist of all nationality.

Before I started my own company, I worked for other security companies to learn and observe the security industry to find out the do’s and do not’s.  I made sergeant and schedule supervisor at any company that I worked for.  One company I worked for also had a body removal service.  I worked 7 days a week for over 3 years supervising the security company and body removal service which included removing deceased people from car accidents, suicides, and natural deaths in hospitals and homes.  I have seen it all and it makes me think about life.  

I am also a volunteer for the Office of Emergency Management, O.E.M., and I have committed my time and services to the State of Tennessee for over 12 years.  I still enjoy this line of business.  I am a certified instructor for O.C.A.T. pepper spray, manodock baton, handcuffs, and an unarmed security guard trainer.  I also have a notary license.  I work in the office during the week and out in the field on the weekends.  This also show’s the T.P.A. family that I’m out there with them and I know what they go through and experience the same situations that they experience.  I’ve worked for companies in the past and you see the owners only on payday at the office or don’t even know the other employees.  In this business it means a lot to know who has your back.  That is why I tell all old and new T.P.A. employees when hired or interviewed that this is a family orientated company.  To sum this up, if I’m not working, I spend all the time I can with my little girl, go to church, and wheel and deal in trading.  I am a trades man on the side.  What do you have to trade?
